Frequently asked questions

What the platform does, how it is priced, how to deploy and how to sell.

What is VicroCode?

VicroCode is an online development and hosting platform: write HTML, Python, or SQLite code in the browser and publish it as a web app with its own public URL, with no server, runtime setup, or filing required.

Do I need to know how to code to use VicroCode?

Not necessarily. A built-in AI coding agent turns plain-language requests into project files; developers who write HTML or Python can work directly with the code and database.

What kind of projects can I build?

Browser tools and landing pages, data dashboards, AI apps with a backend and database, and internal management systems. Projects support multiple languages, usage billing, and source code sales.

Does it cost anything to publish a project?

Signing up and publishing an HTML project are free. You only pay when you use a feature that carries a price, such as a tool billed per use or buying someone else's source code, at the price shown on that project page.

What is the difference between an HTML project and a Python project?

An HTML project is front-end only: it opens instantly and is the simplest to publish. A Python project can install dependencies, use a database, and serve backend APIs, and publishing one requires a membership plan.

Which languages and frameworks are supported?

HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on the front end; Python on the back end (Flask and similar frameworks, with dependency installation); SQLite editing and LanceDB knowledge bases for data.

Do I need my own server, runtime setup, or a website licence?

No. The platform handles runtime, public URLs, backups, and security. You write code and publish.

Does a published project get its own URL, and can search engines index it?

Yes. Every project gets its own public URL with a title, description, and other SEO metadata, and is added to the sitemap, so it can normally be crawled and indexed.

Where is my data stored, and can I lose it?

Project files and SQLite / JSON data live with the project on the platform. Before a delivery (clone or source package) you can declare runtime data files, and the platform isolates them so real data never ships with the code.

How do I use the built-in AI coding agent?

Describe what you want in plain language inside the project. The agent creates or edits files and you can preview the result live, then keep iterating until it works.

Are the AI features free?

Building and publishing are free. Some AI actions are billed per use in coins, such as auto-generating SEO metadata, translating a listing, or generating project FAQs, at 10 coins each.

What is WebCraft?

WebCraft is a skill for AI coding assistants: it generates a VicroCode-ready website or Python app and prepares the metadata, screenshots, and FAQ that the platform expects.

Can a site built with WebCraft go live directly?

Yes. The agent uploads it through the deploy API; Python apps are stopped, uploaded, redeployed, and health-checked automatically, with a structured reason and log tail when something fails.

What do I need before uploading a project?

The project files plus title, description, tags, SEO metadata, and screenshots. The agent can generate that metadata and the screenshots by reading the page, and the platform validates required fields and length limits.

Can a project be listed in the marketplace?

Yes. A marketplace submission goes into an administrator review queue and only appears publicly after approval; do not re-upload while the review is pending.

Can I sell source code or charge per use?

Yes. Projects support a usage price and a source code price, billed per use. Delivery uses an immutable snapshot, so buyers receive a runnable copy of the code, not your live runtime data.

Does VicroCode support multiple languages?

Yes: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and English. Each project can carry per-language titles, descriptions, and SEO metadata, and the platform generates the matching pages.

What does a membership add?

A membership raises project and AI quotas and unlocks publishing and running Python projects. The exact plans and entitlements are shown on the membership page.

Do I need my own server, ICP filing or payment gateway?

No. VicroCode provides hosting, deployment, filing-free publishing and built-in payment handling. You upload code, set your own price and start selling.

Who is VicroCode for?

Knowledge-commerce instructors, small and mid-sized companies, independent developers taking client projects, and anyone building a consumer app.
